Terms of Service

• Bank account connectivity via Plaid (read-only)
• Automated income tracking and AI-powered expense categorization
• Receipt scanning and document storage
• Mileage and location-based deduction tracking
• Tax estimation and quarterly payment reminders
• Expense reports and financial summaries

To use PatraX, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of the United States
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
• Not be barred from using the Services under applicable law
• Not have had a prior account terminated by PatraX for cause

You may register via email/password or through Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You agree to provide accurate, current information and keep it up to date.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. PatraX is not liable for losses arising from your failure to secure your account.

Each user may maintain only one active account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse promotions is prohibited and may result in termination of all accounts.

You may delete your account through in-app settings or by emailing [email protected]. Upon deletion, your data will be removed from active systems subject to our Privacy Policy and legal retention obligations.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through the Apple App Store or Google Play. PatraX does not directly store your payment card information.

Cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial periods, except where required by law.

If we offer a free trial, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel first. We will notify you before conversion.

PatraX uses Plaid Technologies, Inc. to connect to your financial institutions. By connecting an account, you authorize PatraX and Plaid to access your financial data per Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. We receive read-only access — we never initiate transfers or move funds.

Your use of these authentication methods is additionally governed by Apple's and Google's respective terms. We receive limited profile information (name, email) to create your account.

Receipt scanning and expense categorization are powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. Relevant data (receipt images, transaction descriptions) may be processed by Anthropic per their terms. We do not use your financial data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

• Consulting a qualified tax professional before filing
• Ensuring your filings comply with all applicable laws
• Paying all taxes, penalties, and interest owed

You retain ownership of all financial data, documents, and content you upload or connect to PatraX. You grant PatraX a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Services to you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of all information you provide. PatraX is not liable for errors or omissions in your financial records or any data you import.

PatraX may use de-identified, aggregated data for internal analytics and product improvement. Such data will not identify you personally.

• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Use the Services for any illegal purpose, including tax evasion
• Attempt unauthorized access to any part of the Services
• Use bots, scrapers, or other tools to extract data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Services
• Upload viruses, malware, or other malicious code
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Resell or commercially exploit the Services without written consent

The Services and all related intellectual property are owned by PatraX LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right or interest in the Services beyond the limited license to use them as described herein.

Subject to your compliance, PatraX grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the PatraX app on your personal device(s) for your own non-commercial tax and financial tracking purposes.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PATRAX DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PATRAX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL — ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

PATRAX'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO PATRAX IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS, OR (B) $100.00.

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. Cancellation of paid subscriptions must be done through your App Store or Google Play settings.

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. Sections 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 16 survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Disputes not resolved informally within 30 days shall be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the AAA under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitrator's award is final and binding. Small claims court claims are exempt.

You and PatraX may only bring claims against each other in your individual capacities. No class actions or representative proceedings are permitted.

For claims not subject to arbitration, you consent to exclusive jurisdiction in the state and federal courts of Mercer County, New Jersey.
